Allocating/Amending a Competency to a Position

There are two ways you can allocate a competency to a position.

1. Via the Positions information - Walkthrough 
To allocate a competency to a position, select People Central in the left hand navigation and then click on the 'Positions' on the far right hand side. 

Either click on the 'Search' button or enter the name of the position you would like to allocate the competency to then click on the 'search' button.

Click on the position details on the left and then click on the 'Competencies' tab which will display all the competencies that have been allocated to this position.

Click on the 'Edit Competencies' button.

Double click on the competency (displayed on the left) that you want to allocate and it will move to the right. To add another, double click on that competency and it will move to the right.

You can then flag if it is required, desirable or not required - this flag is indicated when you view the view an Employees Competencies.

Click on the 'Save' button to save the changes.

2. Via the Competencies information - Walkthrough
To allocate a competency to a position, select People Central in the left hand navigation and then click on 'Competencies' on the far right hand side.
Click on competency and then click on the 'Positions' tab which will display any positions already allocated this specific competency.
Click on the 'Edit' button.


Double click on any position (displayed on the left) that you want to allocate and it will move to the right where you can then flag if it is required, desirable or not required. This flag is indicated when you view the view an Employees Competencies.

Click on the 'Save' button to save the changes.
